Data Deletion Instructions

Your Right to Data Deletion

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Article 17, you have the right to request the erasure of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”). Somemind AI, operated by Punasaari Research (Vantaa, Finland), fully respects and supports this right.

What Data We Store

When you use Somemind, we may store the following personal data:

  • Account information: Name, email address, hashed password
  • Workspace data: Company name, business identifier (Y-tunnus), brand preferences
  • Social media tokens: Encrypted OAuth access tokens for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
  • Content data: Posts, captions, images, and videos created through our platform
  • Usage data: AI generation counts, feature usage statistics
  • Payment data: Subscription status (payment details are processed by Stripe and not stored by us)

How to Request Data Deletion

Option 1: Self-Service (Recommended)

You can request account deletion directly from your Somemind dashboard:

  1. Log in to your account at somemindai.com/login
  2. Navigate to your workspace Settings → GDPR
  3. Click “Request Account Deletion”
  4. Confirm your request

After confirmation, your account and all associated data will be scheduled for permanent deletion. There is a 30-day grace periodduring which you can cancel the request by logging in and selecting “Cancel Deletion”.

Option 2: Email Request

Send an email to privacy@somemindai.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request” and include:

  • Your registered email address
  • Your full name
  • Your workspace name (if applicable)

We will process your request within 30 days as required by GDPR.

What Happens When Your Data Is Deleted

Upon processing your deletion request, the following actions are taken:

  • Account data — Your profile, email, and credentials are permanently erased
  • Workspace data — All workspaces where you are the sole owner are deleted, including posts, media, analytics, and team data
  • Social media tokens — All encrypted OAuth tokens are destroyed. Your social media accounts are disconnected but not affected
  • Media files — All images and videos stored in our cloud storage (Cloudflare R2) are permanently removed
  • AI-generated content — All AI-generated captions, hashtags, and content ideas are deleted
  • Subscription — Your Stripe subscription is cancelled. No further charges will be made
  • Audit logs — System logs are anonymized (personal identifiers removed)

Data Retained After Deletion

In accordance with legal requirements, we may retain certain data after deletion:

  • Financial records: Invoice data may be retained for up to 6 years as required by Finnish accounting law (Kirjanpitolaki)
  • Legal compliance: Data necessary for legal proceedings or regulatory compliance
  • Anonymized analytics: Aggregate, non-identifiable usage statistics

Third-Party Data

Deleting your Somemind account does not affect data held by third-party services:

  • Stripe: Payment history — contact Stripe Support
  • Social platforms: Content published to Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok remains on those platforms. You must delete it directly from each platform
  • Supabase (Auth): Authentication data is deleted together with your account

Facebook & Instagram Users

If you connected your Facebook or Instagram account to Somemind, you can also manage data sharing through your Facebook settings:

  1. Go to Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites
  2. Find “Somemind” and click Remove
  3. Check “Delete all posts, photos, and videos on Facebook that Somemind may have published on your behalf” if desired

TikTok Users

If you connected your TikTok account:

  1. Open TikTok → Settings → Security → Manage app permissions
  2. Find “Somemind” and revoke access
